Powercranks on is not a simple proposition when you've not been on them in a long while. Nice to be outside again though. Who knows if they actually work but they are harder than normal cycling by a long shot and that must add some training effect. It's definitely
HTFU squats on a bike training.

Powercranks.
Swim - 60min Power Swim. Band, paddles etc.

The jury is out as to faster but they make you bullet proof on the bike (aka cramp resistant and very smooth). Seem to help running more than actually getting faster on the bike. Action very much like a hardcore aqua running. They bloody hurt when you first start using them as well. There are a lot of pros that swear by them as their secret weapon according to Chuckie V (paraphrasing of course).
