  1. What's the projected race weight for Roth?

  2. Coming off slowly but surely so looking at 80-82Kg for Roth and dropping below 80kg for the AAA race of IM Wales. Should see me at very low body fat. The 6 months of Falklands boredom (swim paddletastic and gym queening) has added 5kg of muscle to me, doh. Still too big for a triathlete ultimately. I daren't set foot in the gym again until next year just because of 20 years of muscle memory.

Bike stats seem to have shot through the roof recently after a long annoying plateaux which was a real resolve tester, so need to retest my CP20. Also, seem to be able to run really fast off the bike now (relatively speaking of course). Actually feel like a real triathlete again after years in hibernation.

Pretty much all quality and a little tick over quantity this week for a change. All is good.

  3. That's sounding very positive. Ben Livesey is testing me again this afternoon - ramp lactate test on the bike and getting the calipers out. I suspect I'm up on skinfolds (but it ain't been an easy month as you know) but I'm really interested to see how the power and lactate profile is. We last tested a year ago and since then I've built gym strength over the winter and can now deadlift (6 x 5) 55 kg (just about my body weight which for a former skinny fat marathoner isn't bad, especially at 44 (tomorrow!). Add to that the high end intervals I've been doing ... :-)
